www.arts.cornell.edu/music/faculty/Bilson.html One of the foremost fortepianists performing today, Malcolm Bilson’s eminent career was honored in 2006 when he was awarded the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal at the Smithsonian Institute. A leader in the period instrument movement for more than 30 years, Mr. Bilson has enjoyed a scholarly career at Cornell University that began in 1968, where he is Professor Emeritus of Music. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Eastman School of Music. Mr. Bilson has toured with the English Baroque Soloists, Academy of Ancient Music and Philharmonia Baroque, among others. His landmark recordings include three Mozart cycles (concertos, solo sonatas and sonatas for violin and piano) and Schubert piano sonatas. |
